Doggie behavior problems can range from simple etiquette breaches to more serious issues such as leash reactivity, shyness, unwanted jumping and aggression. We specialize in setting up customized training programs based on each dog and owner’s specific needs and lifestyle, offering effective solutions geared towards NYC’s busy and hectic environment. Training takes place at home and outdoors depending on your training goals.
Give your puppy a warm and well-planned welcome into your life. We will design a complete personalized program that includes all aspects of puppy rearing such as housetraining, socialization and puppy-proofing your home.
Common puppy behaviors including destructive chewing, jumping and excessive barking can be prevented from turning into full-blown behavioral problems if nipped in the bud. This program will help identify those crucial moments and give you the tools to swiftly and effectively help your puppy learn self-control and appropriate behavior. Beginner obedience exercises and the art of human-canine communication will also be introduced in this program: Learn how to communicate with your puppy in a way he understands and how to correctly read what your puppy is trying to say.

Good Canine Citizen Preparation
This program is designed to prepare you and your dog for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluation. The CGC program provides a framework for training dogs to become well-mannered and respectful members of the community. During these sessions you and your dog will work on the 10 skills included in the CGC test, focusing on behaviors that build good manners and social confidence.
Throughout the class, you’ll practice practical skills used in everyday life, such as polite greetings, walking calmly on a loose leash, and coming when called. The course is also an excellent way to further develop your dog’s training and can serve as a strong foundation for those interested in pursuing therapy dog work in the future.
This program is best suited for dogs that have already completed group classes or private training sessions.
There are no restrictions based on age, size, breed, or mix. However, dogs must not display reactivity or aggression toward people or other dogs.
Brooklyn Pup LLC can administer the CGC test when you and your dog feel ready to take it.
